Three killed as car collides with bus

Three people were killed and two sustained serious injuries in a road accident involving a car and a KSRTC bus on Doddaguni tank bund road in Gubbi taluk of Tumkur district on Sunday. The Gubbi police gave the names of the dead as Yoganandamurthy (45), his daughter Ramya (22) and car driver Shankare Gowda (25). Yoganandamurthy’s another daughter Divya (20), who sustained severe injuries, was taken to NIMHANS in Bangalore and his wife, Mamatha (40), is receiving treatment at the District Government Hospital here. The family was on its way to A. Hosahalli in Turuvekere taluk from Bangalore when their car collided with the bus going towards Bangalore at about 8.30 a.m., the police said.
