Lambasting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for trying to protect Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George, former BJP State president and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi said here on Thursday that the party would intensify its agitation.

Mr. Joshi was critical of the steps taken by Mr. Siddaramaiah after the alleged suicide of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) M.K. Ganapathy. “If Mr. Siddaramaiah has any honour left, he should immediately seek Mr. George’s resignation, besides initiate steps to register an FIR against him,” he said.

Stating that the stir against the government would be intensified in the legislature and across the State, he said taluk and hobli-level agitations would be staged by the party.

Mr. Joshi said that he would also raise the issue in the forthcoming parliamentary session and appeal to the Prime Minister to seek a reply from the State government on the case.

Terming the Congress-led government in Karnataka as ‘thick skinned’, Mr. Joshi said that it would take some time for the Opposition blows to make an impact and for the government to respond.
