A day after Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa’s criticism, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said, “The government is functioning effectively and it is stable.” Asked about his comments on the Speaker’s criticism, Mr. Siddaramaiah initially said, “no comments.” Later, he said the government was actively functioning and there was no slackness in the delivery of public services.

Mr. Siddaramaiah, who administered an oath to the Secretariat staff in connection with the Sadbhavan Diwas, told reporters that the government maintained transparency in administration.

‘Modi like Hitler’

Speaking at a KPCC event, Mr. Siddaramaiah compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the German dictator Adolf Hitler and said his style of functioning was nothing less than dictatorship.

“His (Mr. Modi’s) is a one-man army. Ministers in Mr. Modi’s Cabinet have no work. That is why we call the RSS a fascist group because they have no belief in democracy,” he said.
