All India Congress Committee general secretary Digvijay Singh on Sunday said that there seemed to be some displeasure among a few Congress MLAs about not inducting them into the Siddaramaiah Cabinet in the recent expansion.
Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Digvijay Singh, who is here on a two-day visit in connection with the party’s coordination meeting on Monday, said that he knew that some legislators were unhappy about the issue and he would look into it.
Mr. Digvijay Singh, who is both in-charge of the party affairs in the State as well as co-ordination committee chairman, met the former External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna at his residence. He is said to have discussed political matters with the senior Congress leader.
UIDAI chairman Nandan Nilekani, who has expressed his desire to contest from Bangalore South in the Lok Sabha elections, met Mr. Digvijay Singh and reiterated his request.
Meanwhile, three senior MLAs and the former Ministers A.B. Maalakaraddy, K.B. Koliwad and Malikayya Guttedar met Mr. Digvijay Singh with the complaint that they had been ignored during the expansion of the Cabinet.
While Dr. Maalakaraddy refused to speak to presspersons, while the others said that those who lobbied for ministerial berth had been inducted. They had not been considered for ministerial post, as they had not lobbied for it. They told presspersons that the party should not hold them responsible, if the Lok Sabha election results failed to come on the expected lines.
KPCC president G. Parameshwara, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other members of the co-ordination committee will participate in Monday’s meeting.
