There are many beards in the House

The 14th Legislative Assembly has over a dozen members, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, sporting beards.

While some, like Mr. Siddaramaiah, have what look more like stubble, others have well-groomed beards. Those with the bearded look in the House include Social Welfare Minister H. Anjaneya, the former Higher Education Minister C.T. Ravi, Appaji Gowda (Bhadravati) of the Janata Dal (S), Arabail Shivaram Hebbar (Congress) and Prakash Khandre (Congress). Of the bearded members, Mr. Siddaramaiah, the former Ministers S. Suresh Kumar and Lakshman Savadi (BJP), Appaji Nadagouda Patil (Congress), Infrastructure Development and Information Minister Santosh Lad, Vinay Kulkarni (Congress) and G.T. Patil took oath as MLAs.

Karnataka has had its share of bearded politicians, including the former Chief Minister late Ramakrishna Hedge, who was regarded one of the most “photogenic” politician of politics in the State.
