Hagari Bommanahalli police have arrested four youths on the charge of stealing on Friday night.
According to the police, H.B. Hansakumar, a tea-powder trader, and his car driver were allegedly robbed by a four-member gang, after luring them to get them girls. The gang relieved them of gold rings and Rs. 12,000 in cash.
The special squad, which was formed to detect the case, found four members moving suspiciously. When the Assistant Sub-Inspector, approached them to inquire, one of the gang attacked him with a knife and injured him. However, the squad managed to nab them.
The names of the arrested have been given as U.G Anand (21), M. Pramod Kumar (21), Honnesh (21) and K. Gopi (22), all residents of Kudligi.
The arrested were produced before the court and have been remanded to police custody for further interrogation.
Chain-snatching: man held
The APMC police, led by Y.S. Hanumanthappa, Sub-Inspector, nabbed a man on the charge of chain-snatching. He was identified as Naamdar Hussain (32) of Andhra Pradesh.
The police were able to solve four cases of chain-snatching and based on his revealation, have recovered gold ‘thali’ chains worth Rs. 4.75 lakh.
