The Hindu in School chess event today

The Hindu in School Chess Competition will be held in Hubballi on Sunday, providing a platform for the young chess players from different districts of North Karnataka to prove their mettle.

Presented by Thyrocare, the competition is organised under the aegis of United Karnataka Chess Association and The Hindu. It will be held at the KLE Institute of Technology (KLEIT), opposite Hubballi Airport, Gokul, Hubballi.

Students, who have completed online registration, should bring a print of the confirmatory email they have received from The Hindu along with their school identity cards.

Both these documents should be produced at the registration desk.

The tournament will be played on the Swiss League basis under the latest FIDE rapid rules.

The decision of the tournament committee will be final.

Managing Director of Swarna Group of Companies V.S.V. Prasad will be the chief guest for the event. Principal of KLEIT Basavaraj Anami will be the guest of honour.

Every participant will receive a participation certificate.

As many as nine toppers will receive awards along with merit certificates. Log on towww.thehindu.com
