The Hindu In School Chess Competition on Sunday

In a bid to provide a platform to young chess players from different districts of North Karnataka to prove their mettle, The Hindu in School Chess Competition has been organised in Hubballi on Sunday (January 21).

Presented by Thyrocare, the competition is organised under the aegis of Dharwad District Chess Association (affiliated to All India Chess Federation) and The Hindu . It will be held at the Mahila Vidya Peeth (MVP), Vidyanagar.

Students who have completed online registration should bring a print of the confirmatory email they have received from The Hindu along with their school identity cards. Both these documents should be produced at the registration desk.

The tournament will be played on the Swiss League basis under the latest FIDE rapid rules. It will be held in the categories of Under 9, 11, 13 and 15 for boys and girls. The decision of the tournament committee will be final.

Director of T.I.M.E Hubballi Akhilkumar Halagatti will be the chief guest for the event.

Winners will get trophies, cash prizes and merit certificates. Every participant will receive a participation certificate.
