A ninth standard student of Morarji Desai residential school for Minorities in Sira town in the district has allegedly committed suicide in the premises of the school.
The police said that the deceased has been identified as Mohammed Zubair (14) of Tavarekere in Sira taluk. The students and authorities of the school found the body of Mohammed Zubair hanging from a staircase railing in the premises of the school on Thursday morning.
The police said that the reasons for the suicide is yet to be known and they suspect that the boy might have committed suicide on Wednesday night.
Body has been sent to Tumakuru district government hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered in Sira police station.
