On the occasion of Rajyotsava, the Free Software Movement of Karnataka announced a monthlong sprint to ‘localise’ GNU Health, a free software for health and hospital information systems. The idea is to make available Kannada interfaces for all processes in the system. With over 3,000 unique sentences in the project, the group aims at localising (or translating) all the strings. Earlier, the FSMK did a similar drive and finished localisation of the Debian installer in Kannada, which meant anybody who could read and write Kannada could easily install Debian, a popular GNU/Linux Operating System on any computer. The monthlong sprint is entirely volunteer driven, the FSMK said in a release. To participate, visit www.fsmk.org
