Team members of the Mysore Warriors franchise, which recently won the Karnataka Premier League-2014, took out a victory parade here on Sunday.

Holding aloft the KPL-2014 trophy, which the Warriors won against the Belagavi Panthers in Hubli, the team members — led by captain Manish Pandey — went around the city, thanking the supporters.

The Mysore Warriors franchise is owned by the Mysore-based Cycle Pure Agarbathies.

The team, accompanied by N.R. Group Chairman R. Guru and Managing Director of Cycle Pure Agarbathies Arjun Ranga and others met Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, wife of the late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, at her palace residence here before the launching the victory parade.

The team dedicated the cup to Mr. Wadiyar.

The KPL-2014 was a tribute to Mr. Wadiyar, who was instrumental in launching the KPL.

Later, Ms. Wadiyar flagged off the victory parade from the palace premises. e parade, which later began from the Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple outside the Balarama Gate of the Mysore palace, went through the major streets before culminating at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

The Mysore Warriors team had 20 players out of whom 18 have represented the State at various levels and two had been selected after a talent hunt.
