Tax exemption sought for VTU

Minister for Higher Education Basavaraja Rayaraddi called on Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in New Delhi on Tuesday and requested him to grant Income Tax exemption to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, from April 1, 1998.

Union Ministers Ananth Kumar and Prakash Javadekar, State Industries Minister R.V. Deshpande, Karnataka government’s Special Representative in New Delhi Appajji Nadagouda, and Visvesvaraya Technological University and Central Board of Direct Tax officials were present on the occasion.
