Tall flagpost

August 15, 2017 01:26 pm | Updated 01:29 pm IST - Ballari

Unfurling the national flag on top of a tall flagpost at the newly formed traffic-free HRG Circle was the highlight of celebration of 71st Independence Day in Ballari on Tuesday.

The flagpost, with a height of 150 ft., is the second tallest one in Ballari district. JSW Steel Limited unfurled a flag at a height of 210 ft. way back in 2012.

The circle has been developed by Ballari Urban Development Authority while a family has shouldered the cost of installing the flagpost and the flag, which measures 28x36 feet.

Santosh Lad, Minister for Labour and district, unfurled the flag, which will be flying 24x7 from now on.
