‘Take action against police officials involved in scam’

May 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - KALABURAGI:

National vice-president of the BJP B.S. Yeddyurappa, MP, has asked the State government to act firm and suspend all the senior police officials who were allegedly involved in the illegal lottery scam immediately. Addressing a press conference in Kalaburagi on Saturday, Mr. Yeddyurappa said the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has, in its interim report submitted to the State government, indicted the senior police officials of the rank of an Additional Director General Police, two Inspector General of Police rank officials and a Superintendent of Police rank official for their alleged role in the illegal lottery scam.

He said that it was shocking that senior police officials had linked with the kingpin of the scam Pari Rajan. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should initiate stringent action against the police officials immediately and take follow up action to stem the rot in the police department, Mr. Yeddyurappa said.
