Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM), Mysore, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, to facilitate international academic exchanges and develop academic and scientific relationships. SVYM founder and chairman R. Balasubramaniam signed the MoU at Cornell University on November 21. The MoU will facilitate students from Cornell University to intern at projects/programmes set up by SVYM.

They can also take up courses at Vivekananda Institute for Leadership Development (V-LEAD) and Vivekananda Institute of Indian Studies (VIIS), Mysore, which are initiatives by SVYM, on subjects related to globalisation, leadership, managing and governing NGOs, poverty and development, and global health.

The students will undertake research projects under the mentorship of senior researchers at GRAAM, Mysore, also an initiative of SVYM. The first batch of students will be part of these programmes from January 2014.
