The newly elected member of the Lok Sabha from Bangalore Rural constituency D.K. Suresh and his elder brother D.K. Shivakumar met the former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna at his residence and sought his blessings here on Sunday. Mr. Shivakumar said that his brother’s victory is the victory of the Congress as well as the collective leadership of the party State unit president G. Parameshwara, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the Congress national leadership. He would continue to build the party in the State in general and Bangalore Rural in particular. Mr. Shivakumar made it clear that the focus would be on the overall development of the constituency. Asked when he would join the Cabinet, the Kanakapura MLA said that he has followed the party diktat and that decision was left to the party and the Chief Minister. Mr. Suresh said that he would take oath on Monday morning as directed by Mr. Parameshwara. Mr. Parameshwara later told reporters that the Bangalore Rural and Mandya Lok Sabha members would take oath on Monday and meet party president Sonia Gandhi and general secretary Rahul Gandhi. Meanwhile, Mr. Siddaramaiah said that he too would go to New Delhi on Monday for discussions with the party high command about Cabinet expansion, among other things.
