The decision of the BJP’s central leadership to replace Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda sparked off a protest by a section of his supporters here on Sunday.
His supporters assembled near the Teresian College Circle, burnt tyres and blocked the road, throwing traffic out of gear for about an hour. The protest was led by Vokkaligara Hita Rakshana Vedike. The protesters questioned the BJP leadership’s rationale behind bowing to the demands of the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa.
They said the State administration was being fine tuned by Mr. Gowda and hence the BJP should have allowed him to continue in the post.
