The Supplementary Estimates (second instalment) for Rs. 4,454.84 crore were tabled in both the Houses of the legislature on Monday. These estimates related to advances sanctioned from the Contingency Fund after the first instalment of such estimates had been adopted in November 2013.

Of the total sum, Rs.6.01 is towards charged expenditure while the voted expenditure is Rs. 4,448.83 crore. The net outgo from Consolidated Fund is Rs. 4,300.59 crore of which Rs. 413.9 crore is covered by Central assistance and Rs. 1,070.18 crore by adjustments. Hence, the net cash outgo is Rs. 2,816.51 crore, which would be met by suitable expenditure re-prioritisation.

The supplementary estimates comprise an allocation of about Rs. 448 crore to Agriculture and Horticulture Department, Rs. 517 crore to the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department and Rs. 558.41 crore to the Co-operation Department.
