Superintending Archaeologist K. Moortheshwari has lauded the efforts of The Hindu in bringing out the commemorative volume Summit of Peace, on Mahamastakabhisheka of Lord Bahubali Gommateshwara at Shravanabelagola.

Ms. Moortheshwari, who released the book here on Friday, said she was overwhelmed by the exhaustive coverage, which included subjects like excavations by the ASI at Arathipura. “This book kindles the interest for the next Mahamastakabhisheka, scheduled to be held 12 years later,” she said. “The visual presentation and the portfolio of photographs of Lord Bahubali Gommateshwara, an array of Jain monuments in Indragiri and Chandragiri, and the Jain centres in and around Shravanabelagola, is one of the major highlights of the book.”

Ms. Moortheeshwari appreciated the efforts of The Hindu for compiling the details of Mahamastakabhisheka and other Jain monuments.
