Students protest against delay in announcing degree exam results

February 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - Mandya:

Students of several colleges on Friday staged a protest at K.R. Pet in the district against the alleged delay in announcing the results of degree examinations by the University of Mysuru.

The students boycotted classes and formed a human chain, under the aegis of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, at M.K. Bomme Gowda Circle on the Mysuru-Channarayapatna highway for a while.

The inordinate delay in announcing the results had left the students in a limbo. Hundreds of students in K.R. Pet did not know whether they had passed or failed in the examination, the protesters told presspersons. Although the third semester examinations were held in November last, the university had not bothered to announce the results, they said and warned of intensifying the agitation, if the results were not announced soon. Later, they submitted a memorandum addressed to the Governor to tahsildar H.L. Shivaram.
