They are seeking announcement of their results

Students from the Kolar Pre-University College staged a protest here on Thursday against the delay in the announcement of their II Pre University Course (PUC) exam results.

The protest was staged under the aegis of the Janata Dal (Secular) students’ wing. Tulsiram T.R., Bangalore city president, Janata Dal(S) students’ wing, said that the officials of the PU department were saying that the results were withheld due to shortage of attendance.

“If the students were short of attendance, why were they allowed to sit for the exams?” he asked.

Over 100 affected

Meanwhile, a student whose result had been withheld, claimed that over a hundred students had been affected as the Department of Pre University Education (DPUE) and the college authorities have failed to respond to their pleas.

“We are facing anxious moments as our future is at stake. Most degree colleges have started the admission process. The supplementary exam is fast approaching and we do not even know whether we have cleared the exam,” he said.

The students submitted a memorandum to officials from the department and urged them to announce the results at the earliest. Responding to this, a senior official said that the department was examining the merits of the case and would announce the results if everything is within the norms.
