Employees of public sector banks went on a strike here on Wednesday, bringing financial transactions to a halt.

The strike was part of a nationwide stir called by the United Forum of Bank Unions, which has expressed concern over the delay in wage settlement.

The employees assembled outside the zonal office of the State Bank of Mysore at T.K. Layout and the main branch at Nehru Circle and raised slogans in support of their demands.

Addressing the employees, H.S. Hiriyanna, president of Shivamogga District Bank Employees’ Association condemned the delay in revision of wages.
