The Mysore Wushu Association will hold the 13th State-level Wushu competitions here from Friday to Sunday at the Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium.

The competitions will be held in three categories: sub-junior, junior and senior. M.A. Dharma, general secretary, and Soudamini, joint secretary of the association, told presspersons here on Wednesday that over 600 people were expected to take part. Mr. Dharma said that Wushu was composed of two disciplines: Taolu and Sanda. Taolu involved martial patterns and manoeuvres for which competitors are judged and given points.

Sanda is a modern fighting method that appears like kickboxing, but includes many more grappling techniques.

A rally will be taken out on Saturday to create awareness on sexual harassment.
