A two-day State-level science project exhibition titled ‘Inspire Award’ began at B.K. Model School on Monday.

It was organised by the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi; Directorate of State Educational Research and Training; district Administration; Belagavi Zilla Panchayat; and the Department of Public Instruction. Students from primary schools and high schools are participating in it.

There were projects on finding a possible solution to the growing traffic problems in cities and towns; farm mechanisation; electricity generation; and the need to protect environment. There models for power generators, smart car parking system, home security system, sea-saw water pump, water purifier, solar power system, carrot washer, and rain water conservation.

Meanwhile, many students from the educational districts of Bagalkot, Belagavi, Chikkodi and Vijayapura could not participate in the event, as their nominations were not forwarded to the organisers before the deadline.

Although the officials had three months’ time, the District Institution of Education and Training failed to submit project details, a source said.
