Schoolchildren from different schools participated in the World Environment Day programme, organised by the Legal Services Authority and the district administration, here on Wednesday.

The students took out a jatha to spread awareness on conserving nature for the future generations.

District and Sessions judge R.J. Satish Singh and district-level officers led the jatha.

The students carried placards with slogans about the conserving environment.

Later a programme was held at Hasanamba Kalakshetra. Students of Chitakal Foundation, run by artist B.S. Desai, drew two paintings on the spot. Mr. Satish Singh said that every individual had to work towards conserving the nature for the future generations.
