Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda was shocked out of his wits on the occasion of the engagement ceremony of his son Karthik on Wednesday. Kannada actor, Mythriya Gowda, used the auspicious occasion to announce that Karthik had already married her. Ms. Mythriya went public on some TV channels with the allegation.

The charge was denied by Karthik, who told presspersons that he did not know Ms. Mythriya at all. Mr. Sadananda Gowda also expressed surprise over the charges, maintaining that his life was an open book. He termed the allegations an effort to tarnish his image.

Speaking to presspersons in Kushalnagar, he said some political forces could not tolerate his political rise and were behind such allegations. Some TV channels also described the actor as a Congress worker.

Ms. Mythriya is a model-turned actor. She started her career as a model five years ago and made her film debut in Surya, The Great , starring Ajay Rao and directed by Rushi. She also acted in Hrudaya I Miss you, directed by Satya, starring Yogesh. She has also starred in a Tamil film Theekuchi . Her on-going projects are Malinga and Premagni . Sources close to her family said they plan to approach the Karnataka State Commission for Women.
