Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who has had detractors within the party calling him an “outsider” to the “Congress culture”, now has a section of them seeking intervention by Congress president Sonia Gandhi to make him “work in unison” with the organisation.
M.V. Rajasekharan, special invitee to the Congress Working Committee and MLC, has, in a recent letter to Ms. Gandhi, urged her to constitute a coordination committee under the chairmanship of a senior party leader at the State-level to “provide orientation and guidance” to the fledgling Siddaramaiah government to follow “the party style and culture of governance”.
He has dwelt at length on the steps to be taken by the State government to refurbish the image of the Congress, so that it could repeat its performance and score a hat-trick in the Lok Sabha elections.
The octogenarian leader has also written on the same lines to AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
