Sonia to visit Karnataka to thank voters

Congress president and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will be visiting Karnataka for a day this month end to thank the people of the State for their overwhelming support in the last elections to the State Assembly and the byelections to the two Parliamentary seats and a Legislative Council seat.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G. Parameshwara, who was here in connection with an organisational meeting on Wednesday, said Ms. Gandhi could not visit the State soon after the elections due to health reasons.

Ms. Gandhi will be visiting Mandya on September 30 and address a public meeting at 3 p.m. All the top functionaries of the government and party in the State will be present.
