Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G. Parameshwara on Sunday announced that United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress vice-president and MP Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would undertake a whirlwind campaign tour across the State from April 23 to May 2.

Speaking to presspersons, he said that Ms. Gandhi would start her campaign on April 26 at Chikmagalur, from where her mother-in-law and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi won in 1978, and at Mangalore. She would also tour at Gulbarga and Belgaum on April 30 and Mysore and Bangalore on May 2. Mr. Gandhi would address public meetings in Bellary, Raichur and Bijapur districts on April 23, Kolar, Tumkur and Haveri districts on April 28 and Mandya, Hassan and Shimoga districts on May 1.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would campaign for the party candidates at Hubli, Dharwad and Bangalore on April 29. Dr. Parameshwara said that the party election manifesto might be released in a day or two.
