The district unit of Students Federation of India (SFI) has urged the authorities to solve problems of the post-matric hostel located on the PG Centre premises at Mangasandra on the outskirts of the town.

In a memorandum submitted to district officer of Backward Classes Welfare Department, the organisation said the hostel is facing several problems and the inmates are suffering due to it. Lack of hot water for bathing and low quality food are the major problems. The lack of proper road facility to the hostel and the absence of street lights are posing many hurdles to the students. Students who have to reach the hostel late in the evening have to face risk in the darkness, the SFI said.

SFI district unit vice-president Mohammad Mustaf led a delegation to the officer and submitted the memorandum.
