The former All-India Yuva Janata Party president and associate of Jayaprakash Narayan, Sudheendra Badoria on Friday called up on the Janata Parivar workers to fight for the cause espoused during the J.P. movement in the country to help the poorer sections of society.

Inaugurating the birth centenary celebrations of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia organised by Bharat Yatra Kendra (BYK), Karnataka, and Karnataka Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Mr. Badoria said Lohia taught the socialists to fight for the cause of the poor and the downtrodden irrespective of whether they were in power or not.

Kumar Saptharshi, a former Planning Commission functionary, said it was time for all right-thinking people to unite the Lohia thinkers and socialists to fight growing corruption, nepotism and other evils affecting the development of the backward classes, Dalits and minorities in the country.

The former Minister P.G.R. Sindhia felicitated H.A. Ramaswamy, a socialist and convenor of the State unit of the BYK.

V. Somanna, former Minister and MLC, spoke. Former Legislative Council chairman B.L. Shankar and K.V. Nagaraja Murthy, trustee of the BYK, were present.
