SJCE graduation day on Sunday

Motorola Mobile to set up a lab in SJCE and provide internship to students starting from pre-final year

The fifth graduation day of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), an autonomous institution of JSS Mahavidyapeeta, will be held on the college campus here on November 2 at 11 a.m.

In all, 878 B.E., 206 M.Tech, 60 MCA and 91 MBA candidates are eligible to receive degrees for 2013–14, according to SJCE principal Syed Shakeeb Ur Rahman. Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, he said 39 medals will be awarded to students, of which 27 are for those who have scored highest marks in respective branches.

Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swami of Suttur Math, who is also the president of JSS Mahavidyapeeta, will present the medals.

H.C. Visvesvaraya, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Roorkee, will be the chief guest and deliver the graduation day address, Mr. Rahman said.

The governing council and the academic council members of the institution will participate. JSS Mahavidyapeeta executive secretary B.N. Betkerur will administer the oath to the graduates.

Mr. Rahman said Motorola Mobile has expressed its willingness to set up a lab in SJCE and provide internship to students.

The students will get an opportunity to work on real-time projects for developing mobile apps and deploying it in Motorola handsets.
