Six-year-old killed in hit-and-run case

A six-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run accident on NH-4 near Balenahalli in Sira taluk in the district on Tuesday morning.

The police said that the deceased is identified as Mohith Gowda. He had come to his aunt’s house in Balenahalli from Gauribidanur in Bangalore Rural district.

He was crossing the road when a car hit him and sped away around 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday. He was going to the field to graze the cattle along with his relatives on the other side of the road.

The seriously injured boy died on the way to the hospital. The case has been registered in Kallambella police station.
