The situation in Kodi village, which was tense after group clashes on January 25, was peaceful on Monday.

Group clashes had broken out after a quarrel between a youth belonging to a community and a group of youth belonging to another community on Sunday.

There was also stone throwing in the village in which a police constable was injured. The police then resorted to lathi charge and fired a rubber bullet in the air to disperse miscreants and brought the situation under control on Sunday.

K. Annamalai, Superintendent of Police, told The Hindu on Monday that the situation was absolutely peaceful in Kodi. No arrests had been made by the police.

A case had been registered against unidentified miscreants for the injuring the police constable at Kundapur police station.
