Site identified for Kundanagar bhavan

The State government is committed to constructing Kundanagar bhavan in memory of eminent scholar and historian K.G. Kundanagar, Minister for Water Resources Basavaraj Bommai has said.

With regard to a memorandum submitted by the Kundanagar Abhimani Balaga, he said here on Thursday that the site for the proposed building had been identified and the foundation stone laying would be held at the earliest. The cost of the proposed bhavan would be shared between the State government and the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, he added. The government also recently announced the institution of an award named after Kundanagar, which would be given every year to scholars, he said. The government would hold the award presentation function in Dharwad itself, he said.

Mr. Bommai also promised that the Government First Grade College here would be named after Kundanagar.
