Siddaramaiah’s son laid to rest

August 01, 2016 11:04 pm | Updated 11:04 pm IST - MYSURU:

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son Rakesh was laid to rest at the family farmhouse at T. Katur, near here, on Monday.

After a large number of people, including VIPs and other dignitaries, paid their last respects to Rakesh at the Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) grounds in Mysuru, the body was taken to the farmhouse in a special vehicle.

The body was kept for public viewing under specially erected temporary tents outside the farmhouse. Several mourners filed past the barricades to catch a glimpse of Rakesh, who died of multi-organ failure in Belgium on Saturday.

The general public was barred entry into the farmhouse, where the last rites were performed. Family members, close relatives and senior politicians were present.
