Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has welcomed the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to seek a CBI probe into the death of IAS officer Anurag Tewari.
“I had written to the U.P. Chief Minister requesting a comprehensive probe into the officer’s death. Now, the U.P. government has decided to seek a CBI probe. I welcome this. Our government will extend full cooperation,” he said. Meanwhile, Food and Civil Supplies Secretary Harsh Gupta has written to the Chief Secretary clarifying that “there was absolutely no pressure” on the deceased from the department where he last served as Commissioner.
