Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has replied to the Chief Electoral Officer Anil Kumar Jha on the notice issued to him over the alleged intemperate language he [the CM] used against the BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at a rally in H.D. Kote recently.
Speaking to presspersons, Mr. Jha said Mr. Siddaramaiah had explained what exactly he said at the rally in a CD, but declined to give the details. He said the reply had been forwarded to the Election Commission of India in New Delhi for its action.
Similarly, the “poison” jibe made by KPCC president G. Parameshwara, against Janata Dal (Secular) national president H.D. Deve Gowda, was also taken note of by Mr. Jha and the same had been forwarded to the commission.
The BJP, which had lodged a complaint with the CEO, had alleged that Mr. Siddaramaiah had made derogatory remarks against Mr. Modi, violating the model code of conduct.
Exit pollThe commission has prohibited conducting any exit poll and dissemination in any other manner, whatsoever, of the result of any exit poll on the elections to the Lok Sabha. It comes into effect at 7 a.m. on April 7 and ends at 6.30 p.m. on May 12.
