After offering puja to Nandi Dhwaja on the Mysuru palace premises, marking the start of the Vijayadashami procession on Saturday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed confidence that he would perform this ritual next year too.

Mr. Siddaramaiah, who has already expressed confidence of the Congress remaining in power in the State after the Assembly elections next year, asked presspersons whether there was any doubt about him performing puja to Nandi Dhwaja next year.

He has already made public his desire to continue as the Chief Minister for the next five years.

Not only did he say so during his speech at the inauguration of the Dasara festivities atop Chamundi Hills on September 21, he has also tweeted from his personal account, @Siddaramaiah, seeking people’s blessing to continue as Chief Minister.

Mr. Siddaramaiah told presspersons that Karnataka had received good rainfall this year and hence the Dasara festival was being celebrated with enthusiasm. There would be no shortage of water or fodder this year, he said.
