Shivarudrappa to be cremated on Thursday

The writer-poet will be cremated with full State honours at Kalagrama on the Jnana Bharathi campus of Bangalore University

The Karnataka Government has made elaborate arrangements to cremate distinguished Kannada poet, writer and researcher G.S. Shivarudrappa, who died on Monday, with full State honours at Kalagrama on the Jnana Bharathi campus of Bangalore University on Thursday at 4.30 p.m.

The government has identified three places for the public to pay their last respects before the cremation.

According to an official press release, the mortal remains of Shivarudrappa will be kept at his residence in Banashankari II Stage between 8 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. on Thursday, at Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Chamarajpet, between 9.30 a.m. and 10 a.m., and at Ravindra Kalakhsetra on J.C. Road from 10.30 a.m. to 2 p.m., before being consigned to flames at the Kalagrama.
