Lakshmivara Tirtha Swami of Shiroor Mutt, who has filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate for Udupi Assembly Constituency, has shown his total income as ₹23,08,129 in his income tax returns for the financial year 2017-18, according to the affidavit submitted by him to the Returning Officer here on Saturday. The 54-year-old seer has ₹50,000 cash in hand and ₹20,242 in his bank account. He has 300 shares each of Canara Bank and Vijaya Bank, whose total value now is ₹98,800.
