Sexual assault on two minors: man held

The police arrested a man on the charge of sexually assaulting two minors in a village in Kundapur taluk on Thursday night.

The police said Thimma (30) allegedly sexually assaulted two minor girls aged around 10 and eight, when their parents were not at home.

A case had been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Thimma has been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.

Ornaments stolen

Gold ornaments worth Rs. 5.2 lakh were stolen from a house in Kandavara village in Bajpe police station limits on Thursday. The house of Poornima was reportedly burgled sometime on Thursday night.

The police said that Poornima and her family members slept after having dinner around 10 p.m. on Thursday.

When they woke up on Friday morning, they saw that the lock of the rear door was broken and gold ornaments were missing from their cupboard.
