Seven more arrested in homestay attack

Seven men were arrested on Thursday in connection with the attack on young men and women at Morning Mist Homestay here on July 28.

With this, 22 of the 25 people named in the First Information Report have been arrested.

While Suresh Poojary (24) from Veeranagar, Mithun (21) from Maroli, Sampath (23) from Gurupura Kaikamba, Deepak (24) from Maroli were arrested early in the day, Ramesh Kotian (40), Nithin (28) and his brother Jagadish (20), all from Kanoor in the city, were arrested by the City Crime Branch (CCB) in the evening.

According to police sources, during interrogation, these men said they had been acting under the directions of Subash Padil, a member of the Hindu Jagaran Vedike. Subash Padil, who has been arrested, is accused of masterminding the assault.
