Seven people were killed and many others injured when their mini van collided head on with a truck at Lakshmisagar Gate near Narasapur under Vemagal police limits, about 20 kilometers from here on Monday.
The victims were reportedly returning after attending a marriage engagement ceremony when the accident took place around 5 p.m, police sources said. Trafiic on NH 4 was affected for some time following the accident. The injured persons are being rushed to different hospitals RL Jalappa hospital and district SNR hospital. Senior police officials including SP Ram Nivas Sepat rushed to the spot. It was not immediately known how the ghastly accident took place.
