‘Set up skill development centres’

Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha M. Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the Union and State governments should give more importance to establish more number of skill development centres to fine tune the skills of the Vishwakarma community members.

Speaking at the Vishwakarma Jayanti organised by the State government here on Saturday, he said that these centres should provide opportunities for artistes to pass on the tricks of the trade to the younger generation.

Demands

Medical Education Minister Sharanprakash Patil, who is also the district in-charge Minister who inaugurated the Vishwakarma Jayanti celebrations, said that the government was responding to all the demands made by the Vishwakarma community and had already established a Vishwakarma Development Corporation and state government was sponsoring the Vishwakarma Jayanthi celebrations from this year.
