First year M.Sc. students of Manipal College of Nursing will organise a seminar on ‘Trends in healthcare’ here on January 22.
A press release issued by Manipal University here said that important issues related to healthcare would be discussed. Leslie Edward Lewis, Professor, Department of Neonatology, Kasturba Medical College (KMC), would speak on ‘Care of children on ventilator’.
Tom Devasia, Professor, Department of Cardiology, KMC, would deliver a lecture on ‘Early cardiovascular disorders’. Blessy Prabha Valsaraj, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, MCON, will speak on ‘Depression as a major problem among youth today and the ways to deal with it’.
Topics
The other topics are ‘Clinical ethics’ by Joseph Thomas, Department of Urology, KMC; ‘Newer events in the hospital’ by Darryl Aranha, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaelocology OBG, Fr. Muller’s College of Nursing; and ‘Nursing care bundles’ by Vishnu Renjith, Junior research fellow, MCON.
The seminar would be held at the Shirdi Sai Baba Hall of Kasturba Hospital. M. Dayananda, Medical superintendent and COO of Kasturba Hospital, would be the chief guest, the release added.
