The second phase of Zilla and Taluk Panchayat elections is being held in 17 districts across Karnataka tomorrow where a 1.54 crore strong electorate would decide the electoral prospects of 8,752 candidates.
While 2,353 aspirants are in the fray for Zilla panchayat elections, 6,399 are testing their poll luck in Taluk panchayat seats, State Election Commission sources said here.
The electoral authorities have made arrangements for the conduct of polls, which would get tight security cover.
The districts where polling is held tomorrow are: Chikmagalur, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Bijapur, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Uttara Kannada, Koppal and Davanagere.
In the first phase, twelve districts went to the polls on December 26.
Counting is on January four.
