Science Express Climate Action Special (SECAS) — an exhibition train — will arrive at the Hosapete Railway Station on April 4 and be stationed there till April 5, with an aim to creating awareness among the various sections of society, especially students, on how climate change can be combated through mitigation and adaptation.

People of all ages could go to the innovative mobile science exhibition on various aspects of science and climate change displayed in 16 coaches developed by the Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Centre of Environment Education.

The science special train, with a state-of-the-art exhibition aboard, was flagged off at Safdarjung Railway Station in New Delhi on October 15 2015 for its eighth journey.

It is scheduled to travel across the country for seven months, halting at 64 locations in 20 States and covering a distance of 19,800 km.

This train will also have a “kids zone” to engage children in fun-filled activities, including games and puzzles in science, mathematics and environment.

The exhibition timings are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hosapete Railway Station on both the days.

The exhibition is open to all and there is no entry fee.

People have been requested not to carry mobile phones, cameras, bags, match-boxes, cigarettes, beedis, tobacco, water bottles, and any sharp-pointed objects as they are not allowed on the Science Express, according to a press release from South Western Railway.
