School refutes allegations against headmaster

December 26, 2012 11:05 am | Updated 11:05 am IST - Kolar:

The management of Janata High School at Kembodi in Kolar taluk has come to the rescue of its headmaster K. Gopal Reddy who has been accused of misbehaving with girl students.

The parents and public staged a protest in front of the school on Friday and beat up Mr. Reddy for his alleged misconduct with some girl students of 10th standard. They demanded action against the accused who, they said, was a habitual offender.

However, the chairperson of the school administration board, K. Bisappa Gowda, denied the allegations against Mr. Gowda, and said they were false, baseless and politically motivated. “Some forces are levelling allegations against Mr. Reddy”, Mr. Gowda told presspersons here on Monday. “Gopal Reddy is a good teacher and has contributed a lot for the development of the school. Some staff members of the school are dissatisfied with him after he was promoted as the headmaster,” Mr. Gowda said. In this background, allegations of sexual harassment of students were made against Mr. Reddy, he added.
