In a bid to encourage people to take up digital transactions, State Bank of India will now offer ‘Unnati credit cards’ to even Jan Dhan account holders.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday called to brief about the ‘SBI Home Loan Utsav’ scheduled to take place in Hubballi on September 16 and 17, Deputy General Manager of SBI for Hubballi Region Indranil Bhanja said that under the new scheme, customers would not have to pay any fee for the first four years.
Mr Indranil said the Jan Dhan account holders could get the ‘Unnati’ cards by having a fixed deposit of ₹25,000 or more with the bank.
Clarifying that the bank was not keen on recovery of farm loans, he said, instead the Bank was focussing more on renewal of farm loans with extended assistance so that the farmers would return home with additional funds after renewal of the loan.
Mr. Bhanja said apart from giving priority to SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) sector, the bank had also set up an outlet on the first floor of SME Gokul Road branch in Hubballi.
He said Hubballi region had the potential to become an vibrant economy and the bank would extend all necessary help in this regard.
Home Loan Utsav
Regional Manager Anand Patil said the SBI Home Loan Utsav would be held on September 16 and 17 at Raikar Grounds, Vidyanagar, Hubballi from 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. and builders, automobile dealers and others would participate in it.
Apart from giving in principle approval for the loans, interest rate concessions and full waiver of loan processing fee would be done at the utsav. This apart there would be entertainment programmes involving Pandit Praveen Ghodkindhi and standup comedian Gangavati Pranesh on both the days, he said.
